According to data released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), the revenue growth was broad-based, with eight of the nine casino properties reporting year-over-year increases. Slot machine revenue rose by 6.2 percent to $226.1 million, while table game earnings increased by 9.5 percent to $78.1 million. Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa maintained its position as the market leader, recording $81.6 million in in-person revenue, representing a 2.1 percent increase. Caesars Atlantic City demonstrated the most significant proportional growth, surging 34.6 percent to $25.3 million. Presenting a balanced view of the market, Bally’s Atlantic City was the sole property to experience a contraction, with revenue declining 13.7 percent to $12.2 million.
The strong performance of physical casinos coincided with record-setting figures in the digital gaming space. Internet gaming revenue for operators and their partners reached a historic $276.9 million, a 12 percent increase from July 2025. Despite this ongoing digital expansion, July stood as the first month in 2026 where retail casino revenue exceeded statewide internet gaming yields.
“For the first time this year, monthly in-person casino win exceeded statewide internet gaming win, while internet gaming win recorded its highest monthly result on record,” stated James T. Plousis, chairman of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission.
Sports wagering also contributed heavily to the state’s total gaming landscape, posting substantial year-over-year growth. Gross revenue for sportsbooks reached $97 million, an increase of 29.7 percent, buoyed significantly by international events such as the FIFA World Cup. Brian Tyrrell, director of Stockton University’s Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism, noted, “The World Cup may have also favored Atlantic City’s sportsbooks.”
Cumulatively, total gaming revenue across New Jersey’s casinos, racetracks, and online partners rose 11.9 percent to $678.1 million for the month. Year-to-date gaming revenue has now surpassed $4.2 billion. As Plousis observed, “Statewide total gaming revenue eclipsed $4 billion faster than in all prior years.”
