It seems that drinking and gambling really don’t mix. The latest player stats released by online live casino Castle Casino indicate that the world’s top beer-drinking nations also have the worst rate of winning, what a surprise!

The data below, which shows the payout rates from 60 countries in the CastleCasino.com database collected over the last 12 months, compares the worst gamblers with the average litres of beer consumption per capita.

Did we need a study to tell us drinking and gambling is not a good idea?

CastleCasino.com, is sure this correlation is just a remarkable coincidence but, while James Bond may never have taken to the Blackjack table without a Martini in hand, it certainly looks like a sober head might not hurt your chances of winning.

A CastleCasino.com spokesperson explained:

“Our figures reveal some fascinating information about payout rates by country, whilst we know drinking whilst at the tables is never a great idea it was shocking to see such close correlation. It seems that your lifestyle really can have some bearing on success rates at the online gaming tables.

“It’s extremely interesting that the top 5 worst performers correlate so closely with the top 5 beer-drinking nations. Drinking and gambling are never a good mix and we would never accept a player who shows clear levels of intoxication when talking with the live online dealers or our support team, our figures really seem to reinforce why that is necessary.”
