Century Casino Bath Goes Into Liquidation

Century Casinos Bath

Century Casino Bath has gone into liquidation only two years from opening in 2018. The casino is understood to have been operated in a joint venture between French gambling firm Partouche and Global Gaming Venture when first developed but in 2017 Century Casinos acquired the casino in a deal worth £600,000.

However it is not clear if that venture was still the owner of the casino when it closed down in March following the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the time the development cost £14 million and was suppose to consist of a hotel, restaurant and casino. Initial planning was granted in 2014 by the local council but time delay meant that it eventually opened its doors in May 2018.

Local reports say that the casino had mixed reviews over the two years it was operational on decor and customer service.

Media in Bath say that over recent weeks residents have seen removals of gaming tables and other equipment and so it was no surprise that now it has gone into liquidation and will be wound up as a business.

It is unclear whether the lockdown since March was the deciding factor on closure or the casino was going to close in any case.
