Former Supporter To Labour PM To Get Chairman’s Role At 888 Holdings

One of Tony Blair’s former lobbyists who had a major role in the former Prime Minister success as leader of the UK government will be announced as a non-executive director of 888 holdings this week.

It is also understood by UK media outlets that Lord Mendelsohn is being lined-up for the Chairman’s role at the gambling giant once current Chairman and former chief executive Brian Mattingley leaves the role in the coming months.

Lord Mendelsohn who has worked for gambling companies in the past as a lobbyist will be unveiled in an announcement by 888 holdings to the London Stock Exchange shortly and insiders believe the UK governments future gambling review will put 888 in a good place given the expertise of Lord Mendolsohn.

Lord Mendolsohn becomes the second high profile Labour party supporter to be given a position within the online gambling industry within a week following the appointment of former MP Tom Watson as an adviser for Flutter Entertainment.
