Gaming Industry 8 March Celebration Focused on Diversity, Innovation and Sustainability

The Gaming Industry Celebrated International Women’s Day achievements yesterday via Clever Duck Media’s Women in Gaming event.

The Women in Gaming (WIG) Conference held digitally and was attended by over 120 participants from different parts of the world.

Participants listened to the Industry Success stories from Lena Nordin, CHRO at Betsson Group and how to create diverse culture and achieve gender balance.

Natasha Whittaker Director of HR at Microgaming told us how innovation in diversity important to the industry and its creativity.

All participants agree that Gaming industry should be a leader in diverse culture, as we have so many industry corporate examples already.

Jennifer Bowman from IGT told participants about personal journey in the industry and how mentoring helped her on many occasions. Jennifer’s inspiring story was a powerful listen and allowed many participants to identify with her story.

Women in Gaming conference also had the pleasure to hear from Fiona  Buckley   on  “Make friends with your Inner Critic” The Inner critic refers to the voices in our head that can turn any situation into a negative one. There are 7 inner critics and when ignored can act as serious blockers to our self-improvement and self-development. It results in us wasting out energy over analysing many situations like meetings and relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.  On 8 March the very busy zoom conference participants learned about industry achievements and how to create a diverse culture. We all agree that the only way forward for any business is to create a sustainable framework.

Women in Gaming Diversity Events will continue through the year. Many will be joining the 11^th year of Women in Gaming Diversity Awards which will take place in London on 10 September 2021 at the Savoy Hotel.
