Greek €8 Billion Integrated Resort To Delay Application Process

The €8 billion integrated resort which is planned for the old airport at the former Ellinikon International Airport, where tenders for the license has been now delayed.

Originally the license application for the Casino complex which is slated to cost €1 billion was supposed to close the application process on the 22^nd April, however because of Ministerial issues on zoning and land licensing that now have delayed the casino tendering process.

The new deadline for any operators interested in lodging an application is now the 31^st May, the casino will have a minimum of 100 gaming tables and at least 500 slot machines. Whoever the winning bidder will be will receive a 30 year gaming license for the resort.

The entire development once completed will take up some 2 million square meters of space and contain leisure facilities, exhibition space and hotel or hotels.

So far operators that are said to have shown interest in the development are Caesars Entertainment, Hard Rock International, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, and Genting.
