Grosvenor Casinos one of the Rank Groups brands
Union members from Unite who work at the London clubs run by The Rank Group say they are now planning a 72-hour strike from 9th September, with a total of 150 staff from the companies seven venues threatening to close all the casinos over the coming weekend.
The operator offered retention bonus payments of £600 to £800 but the union said it was “totally inadequate,” for the cost of living which is spiralling ever upwards in the UK and particularly so in the capital said union leaders.
Unite spokesperson said: “The Casino workers want an improved pay deal to counter record inflation.”
However, Rank said in a statement that the company was “disappointed” by the move. “Against the backdrop of an extremely challenging trading environment for Rank, and for the sector as a whole, we have made a strong offer which we believe fairly addresses the current cost of living crisis.”
