THE Isle of Man has received seven casino bids in a move to develop a “high class” casino resort on the island. The BBC reported that the government is now in talks with applicants and progress should be evident in March.

Minister John Shimmin said his department had to get the best deal possible for the Isle of Man. The vision has been pending for around two years. He added: “The department would only consider awarding the second license if the proposed new development was significantly different to the existing casino and associated hotel.”

Part of the bigger picture is to also attract tourists and help increase the gaming reputation from within the island.  The application deadline was 31 January.
