Light & Wonder Posts Record Growth Streak

Light & Wonder has hit a milestone with its revenue growing for 15 straight quarters, with $797 million in fourth-quarter revenue that helped reach almost $3.2 billion for the full year.

The company’s gaming segment remains strong with a 4% uptick despite some ups and downs in gaming machine sales.

Light & Wonder Reports $797M Q4 Revenue

Light & Wonder’s fourth quarter results show strong financial growth. The company’s consolidated revenue reached £632.95 million, which is 4% higher than last year. Their gaming segment became the key revenue generator with £408.99 million, showing a 4% increase from the previous year.

The gaming systems division showed exceptional results with a 24% year-over-year growth. Table products revenue jumped by 10% and gaming operations revenue grew by 4%. Much of this success came from expanding the North American base by 9%, reaching 34,004 units.

The company’s North American premium installed base continued to grow steadily. This marks its 18th straight quarter of growth and now makes up 50% of the total North American installed base mix. The units managed to keep a solid average daily revenue of £37.52.

The iGaming segment produced impressive numbers too. Revenue grew 11% to £61.94 million, while AEBITDA increased 9% to £19.85 million. This success stems from strong momentum in North American and European markets combined with successful content launches.

Gaming machine sales showed significant market reach globally. The company shipped over 43,600 units throughout the year, which is 16% more than the previous year. Unit sales alone brought in revenue of £686.95 million.

The digital division’s Online Gaming System (OGS) processed more than £19.06 billion in wagers through its platform, showing its strength. Matt Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the company’s continuing double-digit revenue and earnings growth throughout 2024.

Light & Wonder’s R&D investment and commercial strategy proved effective through gaming machine sales gains in North America and Australia. The company also strengthened its development capabilities by arranging studio needs and expanding existing studios.

Global Markets Respond to Growth Strategy

Light & Wonder’s growth strategy has sparked amazing results in markets worldwide. Their gaming operations in North America grew by a lot, reaching 34,004 units with a 9% year-over-year growth. The company managed to keep strong daily revenue per unit at £40.03.

The company’s expansion into international markets tells an equally impressive story. Gaming revenue rose to £1.67 billion, showing a 12% increase. We focused on gaining market share in North America and Australia, which led to gaming machine sales jumping by 22%.

Light & Wonder’s iGaming division showed exceptional results in major markets. This sector’s revenue climbed 11% to £61.94 million, showing strong momentum in North American and European regions. New content launches and platform breakthroughs drove this success.

The gaming systems division saw remarkable 13% growth thanks to trailblazing hardware and software solutions. Table products performed strongly with a 10% increase. Gaming operations revenue grew 4% as successful game franchises expanded.

Light & Wonder’s strategic investment in Flows, a leading no-code automation platform, sets the stage for faster worldwide growth. This collaboration helps speed up product development and new feature rollouts across global markets.

The company’s market expansion shows in its Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) presence, where about 30% of total ownership now sits. Light & Wonder continues to improve its ASX listing’s liquidity and market value by exploring both dual primary and sole listing options.
