Mario Kontomerkos Appointed the New CEO of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment

Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment (MGE) of the Mohegan Sun in Pennsylvania and Connecticut recently announced the appointment of Mario Kontomerkos as the Chief Executive Officer of MGE after conducting a comprehensive worldwide review of the potential candidates for the role.

The new job responsibilities for Mario Kontomerkos as the CEO of Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment will include overseeing the regular day-to-day operations of the company, monitoring the growth and progress of the brand, and ensuring that MGE continues to offer top notch services and highly personalized customer experience. Mario has already been serving Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment as the Chief Financial Officer for more than six years, after his appointment to the role in September 2011.

A part of the MGE management board and the chairman of the Mohegan Tribe, Kevin Brown, remarked that, already having been a part of MGE at a senior executive position, Mario has actively supported and promoted the worldwide growth and expansion of the company by exploring novel opportunities both in the US and overseas. He further added that through Mario’s unprecedented knowledge and expertise in the financial field, they have managed to practice financial discipline in their everyday operations and also stayed ahead of the curve in terms of industry competition.

Mario’s knowledge and business approach have always been aligned both with the best interests of their tribal culture and also the very essence at Mohegan.
