Mattingley Leaves 888 For Playtech Chairman Role

The current Chairman of 888 Holdings is stepping down to become the future non-executive chairman of Playtech. In an announcement today Brian Mattingley who will now be stepping down in his role as Chairman of 888 to assume the non-exec role at Playtech from June 1, 2020.

Claire Milne has been interim Chair at Playtech since Alan Jackson stepped down at Playtech in June of 2019 but now she will move aside to welcome Mattingley to the Playtech company.

Mattingley has been with 888 Holdings for 16 years, Milne said of the incoming appointment:  “In selecting the new chair, we wanted to appoint an individual with significant online gambling experience and a track record of delivering high levels of corporate governance and stakeholder engagement in a highly regulated and fast growing industry.

“Over the course of the last 30 years Brian has delivered strongly in these areas and has been at the forefront of the development of our industry.

“We are delighted that someone of Brian’s calibre is joining the board and look forward to benefiting from his experience to support our continued progress and growth.”

Over the last fifteen years with 888 Holdings Mattingley started as  a non-executive director, then CEO in 2012 before moving to  non-executive chairman in March 2016.

Mattingley said: “I’m very pleased to be joining Playtech, at such an exciting time in the Company’s development. Playtech is ideally placed to continue to build on its market leadership position and I look forward to working with everyone at Playtech to drive forward its strategy and capitalise on the opportunities ahead.”
