MGM Resorts Suffer Another Cyber Attack

MGM Resorts said that from Sunday into Monday they were the target of a cyber attack that affected many of its systems which had to be shutdown for security reasons.

The casino giants posted on their social media accounts that the attack impacted their network of hotels along with slot machine systems, the website and hotel booking reservations being taken completely offline.

MGM that although many systems were taken offline the casinos remained open with many staff were manually instead of using software technology.

Many customers posted online that they could not use their hotel room keys, check-in to their rooms and even use their credit cards.

News of the attack resulted in MGM seeing a fall in their price on Monday by 2.4%.

This is not the first time MGM has been targeted, back in 2019 the company had a hacker attack that saw personal information of over 10 million customers illegally accessed.
