Nebraska
Nebraska the 38th US ranked state in population with nearly 2 million residents has joined the sports betting business with bets taken from last week but only in person. The WarHorse Casino, a tribal racino in Lincoln took the first bet but mobile gambling is still outlawed in the state as lawmakers only voted to allow in-person betting.
At present it is only the WarHorse Casino that is operational but in total there will be 6 state racinos allowed to offer sports betting, when that will be is not clear as the regulator the Nebraska State Racing and Gaming Commission has not stated on its website.
There are 24 states now that have legalise mobile sports betting which includes four of Nebraska’s neighbours in Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas and Iowa however Nebraska lawmakers felt that mobile betting could create even more problem gamblers and so opted for in-person only.
