According to figures August is now the lowest revenue earning month of the year so far, but with August 2017 seeing the fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor and this month no such big sporting event many believed that August was going to suffer.
It was the Las Vegas Strip that suffered on revenues because of the lack on sporting events with revenues there falling by 12.4%, given that the Strip accounts for 90% of all state revenues it was going to be a bad month.
However North Nevada casino saw a rise in revenues of 4.7% but with downtown Las Vegas suffering a 4.8% fall then it was no surprise that the state was seeing its worst month of the year.
