New Inquiry Into Crown Resorts Perth License

As Crown Resorts the Australian casino operator reels from the news that their $2.2 billion Sydney Barangoo resort is not to have a gaming license as they were found unfit by an inquiry over money laundering and links to organised crime, more bad news comes as the Western Australia (WA) Government have called for an inquiry there over Crowns Perth license.

The Gaming and Wagering Commission (GWC) have stated that following the inquiry by the NSW’s Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA), it too will hold an inquiry for the companies Perth casino.

Crown was found lacking in governance and not fit to hold a casino license for Sydney following investigations in Perth and Melbourne, which found instances of money laundering, organised crime working within the VIP sector of the business along with poor controls by the operator.

It was almost certain following the Sydney inquiry that Western Australia would hold a separate inquiry, observers believe Crown are in serious trouble and could lose their license in Perth and even Melbourne.
