October revenues increase for AC Casinos

Atlantic City posted increased revenues for October of 3.6% compared to the same period last year, however the increase was because last October Hurricane Sandy hit the state closing all casinos for up to nine days.

However an increase is an increase and is only the fourth such happening in the last five years! Strangely enough last October 2012 saw such an increase but again the year before saw Tropical storm Irene hit and again forced casinos to close.

Revenues for the 12 boardwalk casinos were $216.9 million for October, with slots seeing an increase of 9.7%, but table game revenue fell by 11.5% to $53.3 million.

Casinos in Atlantic City have won a total $2.4 billion in the first 10 months of 2013, which represents a fall of 8.3% for the same period of 2012. Predictions have casinos winning less than $3 billion for the year, which would be the lowest accumulative since 1991 when full year winning stood at $2.99 billion.
