PokerStars.EU launched

POKERSTARS.EU has launched and is now welcoming Swedish and Finnish players; they are now moving away from PokerStars.com to the new site. As Eric Hollreiser mentioned on the PokerStars corporate blog last week, the new license and .eu site allow for clarity in taxation of poker winnings. Swedish and Finnish players will still be able to access the same great games and tourneys, and play against the same players as on PokerStars.COM. only now, one of the benefits of moving to PokerStars.EU is that with the games being offered from within EU the players’ winnings will be tax free!
In the corporate blog, Eric Hollresier also said: “As countries around the world awaken to the advantages of online poker regulation, a development that PokerStars has continuously supported, the industry will continue to wind its way through the complex web of rules that address everything from online security to taxation to consumer protection to corporate finance. Sometimes these rules reflect existing regulation in other markets, sometimes they underscore the lack of clear rules elsewhere. That’s why we support a regulated marketplace and seek licenses, which provides clarity to players and operators.”
