Reputed Mob Boss excluded from all state casinos

Joey Merlino

Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board who regulates and oversees gambling in the state has banned reputed East Coast Mafia Boss Joey Merlino from entering any casino in the state.

Merlino who is a convicted felon and is on bail at $5 million for racketeering charges, had an incident at the SugarHouse Casino back in March when some of his entourage were involved in a fight with other gamblers.

It was then that the Gaming Control Board tried to ban the mob boss with his exclusion papers but he refused to accept them and only now have the Board succeed in doing so.

The board began proceedings against Merlino after an incident at the SugarHouse Casino in March when members of his entourage allegedly were involved in a physical altercation with other gamblers, said board spokesman Doug Harbach.

“We tried to serve him at his restaurant, his home, at Harrah’s, at SugarHouse. It’s a permanent ban unless he petitions the board to be removed and provides the board with ample reason why he should be removed from the list,” Harbach concluded in saying.
