Sports Betting In Alabama Goes To Public Vote

The advancement in gambling within the US continues to grow pace as Alabama has now pushed through gambling legislation to allow for a state lottery, the licensing of six new casino casinos and the permission to grant sports betting within state borders.

Gambling Bill SB319 has gone through committees and already was approved by state senators last month and now with lawmakers approving the bill it will almost certainly go to a public vote and if approved the state Governors signature to pass into law.

It has been a long haul for pro-gambling lawmakers to get this far, some 10 years in total and there is still a little way to go as the public vote would not happen till November 2022 but that will not deter supporters who see the legislation as a new tax generating mechanism.
