Stocks + Gambling = big year for small guy?

Every size of online casino operator, in every part of the world will benefit.

THE stock market could be an indicator of whether the gambling industry in 2012 is on to a sure bet. LiveGamble.com and partner site LiveGambling.co.uk released a press piece looking into the stocks of some of the big players out there in the gaming sphere. With markets slowly opening up and operators applying for licenses, many sit and wait for what the online gaming world brings them.

They reported that the climbing share prices have been felt by existing gaming sites in foreign markets — including the UK — as well as land casino operators. Major players William Hill and 888 have hooked up with prominent brands in the land-casino world – Brandywine Bookmaking and Caesars Entertainment respectively. William Hill saw shares go up 3.2% since the announcement by the DoP whilst 888 went up 9%. Other major operators, such as Wynn Resorts, Ladbrokes and Bally Technologies have all seen similar increases in share value.

LiveGamble.com concluded that with established brands and marketing clout, the major lottery companies and big land-casinos are sure to steal a march on the rest in terms of profitability, but 2012 is set to be a big year for the small guy. The reinterpretation of an old law will benefit every size of online casino operator, in every part of the world, not to mention the software designers and content creators who build their sites.
