Three Quarters of all revenue expected to be non-gaming at Resorts World Las Vegas

A new mega casino currently under construction on the strip in Las Vegas is expected to generate three quarters of all revenue through non-gaming sources and is the most expensive casino ever to be built in Sin City’s history.

That is according to management at the Resorts World Las Vegas responsible for currently building the behemoth. The complex will feature 3,500 hotels rooms, a 220,000-square-foot pool complex and 350,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space and is expected to open in 2021.

The scheme is being developed by Malaysian conglomerate Genting Bhd.
Resorts World Las Vegas president, Scott Sibella, told media outlet Vegas Inc this week that the resort will also cater to those who are not necessarily in Vegas to gamble.
He said: “You have to think differently and design differently, because not everyone is going to want to gamble. It’s a different way of thinking than it was years ago.”

Although the casino will not be Asian themed as previously promoted there will be Asian influences in the interior design including art, the colour palette and floors, according to Mr Sibella.
Only two thirds of the 88-acre site will be used for the scheme leaving the rest for future development.

Genting confirmed in November this year a budget of $4.3 billion for the megaresort. which would make it the most expensive resort property ever developed in Las Vegas.
Plans include a 5,000-seat theatre, a 75,000 sq. ft nightclub and day club for a younger demographic. The resort will also include an LED video globe, measuring 50 feet in diameter. In addition, the west hotel tower will include one of the world’s largest LED video screens, measuring 100,000 sq. ft, while the east tower will feature a 19,000 sq. ft video screen.

Not forgetting a paradise for players with gaming facilities featuring a 110,000 sq. ft casino with slots, table games, high limit gaming areas, private gaming salons, dedicated poker room and a 14,000 sq. fit entertainment zone including a race and sports book area and live entertainment.

The Genting Group is a company headquartered in the Wisma Genting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Founded in 1965, the Group has garnered over 52 years of experience in developing, operating and marketing casinos and integrated resorts in different parts of the world, including the USA, Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

The Group and its affiliates employ about 62,000 people worldwide and has over 4,500 hectares (11,000 acres) of prime resort land.
