Wynn Resorts Development Japan was established late last year to look at the possibility of tendering for one of the coveted licenses, the company has already said following a recent visit in January by Matt Maddox that should they receive a license the casino giant would be prepared to spend upwards of $8 billion.
Matt Maddox the Wynn CEO said on the office, “We are aware that the Japanese national and local governments are deeply considering the establishment of Japanese-style IRs. Providing information and making proposals to the local governments is an important responsibility of the IR operators. We believe that we can better respond to this information provision responsibility through the establishment of our Japan corporation and the opening of our office.”
