New Pyrons release expected to fire up fans

Yggdrasil Gaming is hoping to blow away operators and players alike with a new high roller game featuring exploding symbols.

Pyrons, from the Greek word for fire, takes a classic mechanic to new levels by offering a x20 multiplier that makes even the smallest win significant.

Featuring Yggdrasil’s trademark crisp, clear graphics and an 8-bits synthesizer soundtrack, it has six regular symbols that win if three or more are lined up in sequence on a payline.

But instead of normal spinning reels, the symbols drop down in a random fashion. Exploding symbols then make the winning symbols burst and disappear, before they are replaced in a new round with all winnings multiplied.

As long as players keep winning, their new rounds are rewarded with higher and higher multipliers – starting at x2, x3, x5 and finally x20!

Fredrik Elmqvist, chief executive of Yggdrasil Gaming, said: “Pyrons is almost too hot to handle but I’m sure fans of Yggdrasil slots will have a cool time playing it.

“We try to make all of our games different but similar at the same time and I’ve no doubt this new one will go down just as well as the others. It’s a fiery little number!”

Pyrons is now the sixth slots game to roll off the Yggdrasil production line, all of which now support 17 currencies and 11 different languages.
