After an elegant and exciting ceremony marked the opening of Sands® Cotai Central early Wednesday evening, eager throngs of visitors made their way into the integrated resort as it opened its doors to the public for the first time at 6 pm. Over 84,000 people visited the latest Cotai Strip® property from Sands China Ltd. during the first six hours of its opening.
An outdoor crowd over more than 5,000 people watched the 5 pm opening celebration at the porte-cochere of the Conrad Macao, with queues extending over 400 metres around the building. After doors opened, the first 12,000 visitors received a gift of a golden ingot featuring a limited edition lucky dragon charm. Some of the integrated resort’s restaurants reported being at full capacity shortly after opening, with queues quickly forming at the extremely popular Grand Orbit buffet restaurant.
In total, SandsChinaLtd. properties welcomed over 200,000 visitors Wednesday.
