November residents will decide on allowing two casinos to be built outside Atlantic City close to New York City and that say Fitch Ratings could push casinos such as Trump Taj Mahal, Resorts, the Golden Nugget and even Bally’s into closing with visitor numbers declining.
Fitch Ratings believes that a loss of 25% gambling revenue to the northern casinos would wipe out Golden Nugget’s profit and the same would happen if Trump Taj Mahal and Bally’s were to suffer the same fall.
Currently voting polls have a even split of voters in favour and against the new casinos.
