Gambling firms Oddschecker and MansionBet are two of the gambling companies that will also conduct a social media blackout during the period.
Along with them the list grows with BT Sport, TalkSport Radio, sports company Adidas, Budweiser, Barclays Bank, Cazoo and several other sporting organisations are supporting the social media boycott. It is also expected that sports broadcasting giant Sky Sports will also join.
The social media blackout stems from online abuse to footballers but now is growing to a more general boycott to get social media giants to take more control over online abusers.
