Jake’s 58 Long Island casino is a big hit among the people

Jake’s 58, is already New York State’s best performing Hotel & casino in terms of average revenue per machine. As per the reports last month it was almost $800 a day per machine. Chuck Kilroy, president and general manager of Delaware North which also owns the hotel and operates the gaming venue said “[Patrons] like the service, it’s clean, they feel safe, and it’s close to home.”

Now the property is almost getting its final phase of finishing touched which includes a full bar, Jakes debuted electronic table games, including craps and poker earlier this month. On Monday 273 more slots were delivered to add to the 100 machine allotment at this property.

Phil Nolan, the president of Suffolk OTB, which was banking on Jake’s to get it out of $15 million in debt said, “If it were not for this, we would probably go out of business.” With the opening of Jake’s 58 now Long Islanders no longer need to travel anywhere else to play. Nolan added that “Folks were going to Aqueduct, they were going to New Jersey and Connecticut,” “Those dollars — and it’s very, very significant revenue — are now staying in Suffolk County.”

$10 million has already gone to the State Public Education Fund as shared by Delaware North. Now the company is expects a business increase this summer when people travelling to the East will stop here to test their luck at their casino hotel. A gamer even shared to Fox 5 that “Instead of travelling down to the Bronx or Mohegan Sun, this is what I do,” while another one said “Of course we don’t go to Atlantic City anymore,””We’re just going to continue coming here. It’s a stone’s throw from where we live.”

Though not everyone is happy with the opening of the casino Hotel in the area and they say that it might have been here but it does not belong here. Many even stated that this casino should not have been here and it should be moved out of this place. However the village mayor said that till now he has not received any complaint regarding the quality of life here because of this casino hotel.
