Macau Golden Week Holiday Numbers down 87%

The Macau Golden Week holiday has seen a drop of 87% in visitor numbers for the first three days compared to the same period in 2019.

Macau’s Public Security Police released the figures from the weekend of the holiday period that lasts from 1^st October till 8^th October.

On the first day arrivals totalled 15,500 down 88.5% on last year, with 22,116 arriving on day two still down a massive 86% and on day three 20,726 down 87%.

Last year a total of 985,000 visited Macau during Golden Week, which last year ran from the 1^st October till 7^th October, estimates given the current numbers would have the total amount this tear at around 140,000 for the entire holiday period.
