Multi-Year Partnership Forged Between Baltimore Ravens And Horseshoe Casino

Baltimore Ravens

The newest entrant to the line of professional sports team and gaming partnerships is Baltimore Ravens and Horseshoe Casino Baltimore.

The marketing partnership could be advantageous to Horseshoe Casino. The deal seems to have been in place since September, being formalized to an agreement on October 19.
Senior Vice President of Corporate Sales and Business Development for the Ravens – Kevin Rochlitz commented how the Horseshoe Casino is a favored pre- and post-game hangout destination for fans of Baltimore Ravens. The partnership seemed like a natural choice to enhance the entertainment appeal around the M&T Bank Stadium. He was also positive that it would add to the spurt of development in the area.

MGM International-NBA and Winstar World-Dallas Cowboys are other noteworthy partnerships between casinos and sports leagues that have materialized of late. The one between Baltimore Ravens and Horseshoe Casino is the first for Caesars Entertainment, the owners of the Baltimore casino.

Ceasar’s Regional President and General Manager of Horseshoe Casino, Erin Chamberlin also appeared to be optimistic about the partnership. Chamberlin said that both the Ravens and the Horseshoe Casino are established Baltimore names that are committed to the upliftment of the region. Both are in the business of offering unique entertainment products. Their shared goal is to transform the district into a hotspot for entertainment and recreational activities.

The multi-year marketing deal signed between the two allows Horseshoe to use the Raven’s trademarks and logos legally. The casino’s close proximity to the M&T Stadium gives it an added appeal.

Sports fans can expect to find a refurbished three level Raven’s themed bar once they walk into the casino. The Raven’s “Legendary Moments and Plays” displayed during the games will be sponsored by the casino.
All but the financial details of the agreement has been shared with the public.

The Ravens are looking forward to entering into similar deals with a few of the other eight casinos in Maryland.

Legalization of Sports Betting in Maryland

Maryland still requires a state constitutional amendment to legalize sports betting. The casinos there are in favor of the legalization.

There was progress regarding the issue when the Maryland House of Delegates passed sports betting legislation, but the bill failed to reach the Senate floor. The issue was withheld from the November ballot as a result.
It is to be seen if November 2020 can bring about a change in the law.
