Baccarat, a popular card game, led the way, contributing $1.49 billion to the overall revenue, representing a substantial 28.2% year-on-year increase. Blackjack revenue increased by 0.8% to $1.33 billion, while craps revenue rose by 4.6% to $467.5 million. Roulette also experienced growth, with a revenue increase of 1.8% to $460.3 million.
The rise of mobile sports betting has been a game-changer for the Nevada gambling industry. In 2023, sports pool revenue amounted to $481.3 million, with $240.7 million of that revenue coming from mobile betting. Football betting took the lion’s share of sports pool revenue, contributing $157.9 million, followed by basketball with $133.5 million, and baseball with $93.2 million. Hockey betting revenue totaled $19.0 million, parlay cards accounted for $8.5 million, and other wagering activities generated $69.3 million. The convenience and accessibility of mobile sports betting have undoubtedly contributed to its rapid growth and popularity among bettors.
The month of December 2023 saw a significant surge in revenue, amounting to $1.43 billion. This represents a 9.0% increase compared to December 2022 and a 4.4% increase compared to November 2023. Slot machine revenue experienced a 6.9% increase, reaching $858.0 million, with multi-denomination slots leading the way at $559.6 million. Table, counter, and card games revenue climbed by 12.5% to $574.6 million.
