Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf signed off legalising online gambling late last year.
The deadline for Pennsylvania special offer of a $10 million online gambling license passed on Monday 16th July with six operators applying for the deal. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board it said they have received six license applications by Mount Airy, Parx, Penn National, Rivers, Sugarhouse, and Stadium Casino LLC
Online gambling was signed off late last year by Governor Tom Wolf making Pennsylvania the fourth state to join Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware in the online gambling business.
Now the special deal offer has expired all the other states casino operators will have to pay the $12 million license fee if they want to join the party, the deadline for those applications is another 30 days.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said that if it did not receive the full amount of license applications from operators within the state it would consider allowing out of state casino operators applying for a license.
A full license costs now $12 million and allows the operator to offer online slots, casino games and online poker. Or for just $4 million an operator can apply for a single operational license.
