Spain Suffers 50% Drop In Gambling Revenues So Far In 2020

Spanish gaming industry association Cejuego along with the University Carlos III of Madrid have compiled a report based on the first ten months of gaming in Spain, showing a massive fall in revenues of over 50%.

In total the report shows gross revenues of €4.35 billion for the year up to October, in 2019 the full twelve year revenues stood at €10.23 billion.

The huge impact of the COVID-19 pandemic of course had a major impact on land based operators, but even last year prior to the pandemic revenues were down 6% so the decline is not new.

However the report did show that even with a new regulation on gambling advertising online gambling rose 17.7% for the second quarter of 2020.
