Wynn says killer Paddock would have alerted his security prior to shootings

Steve Wynn says Paddock would never have done what he did in his resort.

Steve Wynn the casino mogul said that Stephen Paddock the gunman who killed 58 people and injured nearly 500 at the Las Vegas country music festival just over a week ago could never have done that in his resort.

Paddock set up a shooting point overlooking the festival at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and had a “do not disturb” sign on his door for 3 days and that was one of the things that would have alerted Wynn’s security along with their no guns policy.

In an interview with Fox News the casino boss said, “We … have rules about do not disturb. If a room goes on do not disturb for more than 12 hours, we investigate.” He went on to say about the gun policy, we don’t allow guns in this building unless they’re being carried by our employees and there’s a lot of them. But if anybody’s got a gun and we find them continually, we eject them from the hotel.”

Along with revealing the security measures Wynn told Fox News that all his staff have over the last two years have embarked on counter terrorism training.

Wynn did say that Paddock had stayed in his resorts many times since 2006, sometimes twice a month but his security looked on Paddock as vanilla and no security risk, “he paid promptly, never owed any money anywhere in Las Vegas. He didn’t fit the profile of a problem or compulsive gambler.”

Police had thought that Paddock was a problem gambler with debts but that has not been the case. In fact over a week since the killings and police are no closer to finding a reason for Paddock to go on his murderous spree.
