Flutter Shareholders Could Oppose Latest Pay Rise For Chief Executive

Betting giant Flutter Entertainment could face shareholder anger this week at the annual meeting along with announcing its first quarter results. Although Flutter is expected to report a good first quarter shareholders are reported to be upset by the latest pay rise to Peter Jackson the Companies chief executive.

According to reports over the weekend a proxy voting service said shareholders should reject the current pay rise to its boss. Jackson received a pay rise back in May 2020 following the completion of the merger with rival Stars Group of 17.5%, with bonuses, pensions and other benefits that saw Jackson scoop a salary package last year of £7.5 million.

Those opposed to the new salary increase say Jackson has already seen his remuneration package rise by 258% since the previous year and already in March this year has had a 3% increase apart from what is recommended now.

However those supporters of the rise say the complete offering to Jackson is not excessive given the size and scale of the company compared to others, taken this and the excellent year the gambling giant has had it is good practice to reward and ensure you keep your top manager.

Flutter will announce its latest results on the 29th April and any opposition to the latest salary rise will be brought up then.
