The agreement allows Novomatic access into the markets of Cambodia, Nepal, Laos, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. The move is in fact quite significant, Novomatic will become the first company to have had opened a casino in Vietnam. It only testifies for the company’s reach.
The company started some 37 years ago but the past two years have been the most crucial for its operation. In 2017, the revenue earned was $2.5 billion. The number had doubled by 2018. The Austria-based company’s move to spread out to 50 countries all across the world has enabled it to rise to its current position as world-renowned gaming and gaming equipment enterprise.
Their expansion into yet unexplored regions of Southeast Asia only spells more success and profit for them. Who knows, they may even turn in double the revenue they earned last year in this year!
The company just acquired Australian-based company Ainsworth in 2018.
In an attempt to catch their new market’s fancy, Novomatic has come up with a series of new interfaces and games tailored to apply to the Southeast Asian market which includes motifs from Asian imagery.
Competitors Feel the Heat
Competitors are finding it hard to survive in a market dominated by Novomatic. The company was already offering 270,000 gaming devices to the world along with 2,100 outlets for video lottery terminals. The new agreement and subsequent expansion planned could well be the death blow for other industry players.
The company seemed to be struggling to find the right distribution partner for a while, but IPG appears to have taken care of that. IPG can help Novomatic reach even greater heights. The two partners will aim not only to attract citizens from the Southeast Asian nations but also vie for customers from neighboring China.
Robert Dijkstra, Vice president, Novomatic stated that partnering with IPG, who has displayed consistent performance in the area concerned will allow Novomatic to strengthen its position further and reach out to customers both old and new.
Novomatic which had so far been an average organization for a little over three decades finally seem to have gotten their act together!
