Wynn’s hopeful vision

WYNN Resorts Ltd could be looking at developing a proposed resort in Cotai, Macau. It has been reported that Steve Wynn said he is “hopeful” that the Cotai land grant could be initiated by as early as next week. Mr Wynn was quoted by English-language newspaper Business Daily as saying that he will be in Macau for a number of reasons, one being a meeting with the government.

The actual cost of the project hasn’t been made public yet. In company conference calls with analysts last year, a price ranging from US$2 billion (MOP15.9 billion) to US$3 billion was mentioned for a 1,500-room project. According to the report, once the land and building permissions are granted the Wynn Cotai project would be aiming for an opening in the second half of 2015 or first half of 2016.
